Frequently asked questions
What is Limitlass Festival?
Limitlass Festival is a women’s mountain bike festival, run by women, for women. Now in our 4th year, we bring riders together for an unforgettable weekend of mountain biking, skills coaching, guided rides, wellbeing activities, and good vibes! We’re proud to have won Mountain Bike Event of the Year twice!
Who is Limitlass Festival for?
Limitlass Festival welcomes anyone who identifies as a woman or non-binary. We strongly encourage members of the LGBTQ+ community, non-binary individuals, and women of colour to attend. If you consider yourself part of these communities, please contact us - we’d love to offer you a small discount as part of our commitment to inclusivity.
When and where is Limitlass Festival?
Limitlass Festival takes place in Dunkeld from 8th–10th August 2025. The fun kicks off at 5 PM on Friday and wraps up on Sunday afternoon.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets go live at 7 PM on Friday, 4th April 2025.
How much are tickets?
We offer two ticket types:
Full Access – £185: Includes a group skills coaching session tailored to your ability with one of Scotland’s top female MTB coaches.
Lite – £140: A more affordable option for those who don’t need coaching but still want to be part of the festival fun.
Is food available onsite?
Yes! For 2025, we’re introducing a fully catered food ticket for £40. If you purchase a food ticket, you’ll get:
Friday: Dinner
Saturday: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Sunday: Breakfast & lunch
A coffee van will be onsite, but if you don’t opt for catering, you’ll need to bring all your own food.
How does the catered food ticket work?
If you purchase a food ticket, we’ll email you closer to the festival so you can pre-select your meals. Options will be available for meat-eaters, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets.
Friday evening will be a buffet-style dinner.
Saturday & Sunday meals will be individually portioned and ready for collection - so you can spend less time waiting for food and more time enjoying the festival!
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely! About a third of attendees come solo. We know it can feel a little nerve-wracking, but we promise it’ll be worth it. There are so many opportunities to meet people and make new friends - you might even leave with a whole new riding crew!
How much mountain biking experience do I need?
Limitlass Festival is for riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Our coaching sessions are tailored to your ability, so whether you’re looking to build confidence on the trails or fine-tune technical skills, we’ve got you covered.
What kind of bike do I need?
You’ll need a mountain bike (one with knobbly tyres!) in good working order. A hardtail or full-suspension is fine. E-bikes are welcome, but please be mindful that guided rides will be paced for non-e-bikers.
Can I hire a bike?
We don’t have hire bikes available onsite (but you will be able to demo bikes at the event). If you need to hire a bike for the weekend, drop us a message - we’d be happy to recommend a hire shop close to you or convenient for your travel plans!
How old do I have to be to attend?
You must be 18 or over to attend Limitlass Festival.
What about accommodation?
Camping is included in your ticket for Friday 8th & Saturday 9th August. You can bring a tent or a van (no caravans, please).
If camping’s not your thing, there are hotels and self-catering options in nearby Dunkeld - but we highly recommend camping for the full Limitlass experience!
Are there toilets and showers?
We’ll have portaloos onsite, which we do our best to keep clean. However, there are no showers - so embrace the full festival camping experience!
Can I bring my partner/mum/friend?
Only if they buy a ticket! Limitlass Festival is an event for women and non-binary riders, so unfortunately, male friends or partners won’t be able to attend as participants. However, a small number of men will be working behind the scenes to support the event.
Can I get a refund on my ticket?
We understand that plans change, and while we’d love to see you at Limitlass Festival, please make sure you’re certain before purchasing your ticket.
As a small team juggling full-time jobs and other commitments, processing refunds, adjusting coaching groups, and reselling tickets takes a lot of time - time we’d rather spend making the festival amazing for you!
Here’s our refund policy:
🔹 Full refund if requested before 11th July 2025
🔹 50% refund for requests between 12th–31st July 2025
🔹 No refunds from 1st August 2025 onwards
We appreciate your understanding!
What if the weather is bad?
This is Scotland - rain is always a possibility! The festival will go ahead rain or shine, so bring waterproof gear and embrace the adventure.
In the event of extreme weather conditions that pose a risk to participant safety, we may need to alter or cancel the event. Any necessary updates will be communicated as early as possible.
Can I buy tickets on the day?
No, tickets must be purchased in advance. Limitlass Festival sells out quickly, so we highly recommend setting a reminder for 7 PM on 4th April to avoid missing out!
Will there be merchandise for sale?
Yes! We’ll have a range of Limitlass Festival merch available to purchase at the event to help you rep the Limitlass vibe year-round.
